Iron infusion
In case of iron deficiency, many functions in the body function less well. People most often experience symptoms that are difficult to recognize because they are not specific: fatigue, drowsiness, headache, and sometimes chest tightness. Iron deficiency, even to a lesser extent, reduces performance, your ability in sports activities and also in everyday tasks, such as learning, performing intellectual tasks, concentration, and more.
If you have not been able to compensate for your iron deficiency through food and iron tablets have not been effective or are not tolerated well, intravenous iron supplementation (iron infusion) is possible. This is a fast and extremely effective method that reliably delivers iron to the body, which is not always possible when taking pills.
About the procedure
The iron infusion is completely invisible and imperceptible, with the exception of the placement of the channel, and lasts approximately 20-30 minutes, during which you can read a book, a guide to iron-rich foods, or do some work on your phone in a relaxed position.
Before therapy
Before receiving an iron infusion, a recent blood test and a doctor's examination are required. If you already have a confirmed deficiency, you can have an iron infusion without any prior steps, otherwise two visits are required, one for a specialist examination with blood sampling and the other for the infusion.
